Taintala
The plains of Taintala are not just plains. In the Western side of Taintala, groves of redwood trees and pine trees fill the air with a heady pine scent and provide enough shelter from the extreme elements to please even the most sensitive horse. The plain the title talks about lies to the eastern side. A rolling plain full of lush, green shoots takes the horse to the end of the territory, surprisingly where another redwood forest stands. A brook runs down the center of the plain, providing the only water for the herd, but it’s good, fresh, clean water. Predator’s and danger do exist. Cougars have been known to hide behind a grassy knoll and take a foal unaware while wolves do sometimes roam the forests at night. Caution to one who roams alone, it’s always better to have a buddy with you.
