i48.tinypic.com/acx05z.jpg%5B/IMG%5DGage danced across his lands making sure he knew every blade of grass, pebble, and grain of sand that belonged to him. He stopped to drink from the creak. As he walked up to it, his feet sank into the wet sand and dipped his muzzle deep into the creek. This was a bad habit of his. The wind picked up his main and forelock. It slightly blew his tale to one side. As he did, streems of water ran down his muzzle and dropped into the water making fresh ripples. Winter he thought. It is getting closer. He trotted out of the water and into the grass. He could sence it would get cold that night...this was not good he knew, for he did not grow much of a coat. At these times he cursed his thin coat. But he let these thoughts slip out of his mind the same as the water dripped off of his muzzle. He began his way back into the grass. He ate, why could he not get full? Although he knew the answer. He wanted a herd, someone to possibly keep him warm in harsh nights. The sun had not yet gone down but it was on a surefire rout. He looked at it, thinking, how could the same sun not give off the same amount of heat here as it did in the desert?

Oracle galloped across a desert like place then came to a big hill and at the bottom was a forest it looked nice and peaceful she liked it she walked down the hill and explored it no knowing of some other horses were here or not...she didn't rely on her nose that much but frankly she didn't care.Beams of the evening sun hit her coat making it glow and the breeze pick the strands of her mane and tail and gently danced with them. She came to a creek farther down from where Gage was,she was in smelling range though she gentle touched her muzzle to the water making it ripple then she began to drink the cool crystal clear water that quenched her thirst. She was beautiful..stunning or so she has been told and she was told correct by many others. She lifts her head from drinking and hears a noise she travles upward away from the direction the creek was flowing she didn't see anything so she kept walking, she weaved gracefully through the trees like the wind in her mane but she kept at a walking pace. She longed for someone to talk to.

Gage lifted his head. He smelled a fae. Here? Possibly...maybe his noes was playing tricks on him. He let out a small neigh and perked his ears listining closley. All he heard was the wind. He lowerd his head and began grazing once more. He ripped at the grass. The sent was getting stronger. He sharply lifted his head and listened more closely, he stamped his foot. He twiched his ears, trying to catch the hint of anything moving. Suddenly a bird shook a branch and flew away. I'm loosing my head, he thought. He lowered his head, but something deep inside him told him someone was indeed there. He let out a loud shrill neigh and raised his tale. He stiffened his neck. He was determined to hear something. He heard the faint sound of hoofbeats, who's he did not know. He let out a shrill neigh in the direction. He began to trot head and tail high in that direction.

Oracle's hoofbeats had a good steady rythm to them, she stopped dead in her tracks and answers the shrill. She listened and heard hoofbeats getting closer to her she swistly backed up until she could see what was coming toward her.She stopped by the creek and stood as still as a statue, she was frightened at what might come up over the small hill. Her pinto coat shimmered and her ice blue eyes glistened. Her eyes widened and her breath trembled, she looked like the sweetest thing there ever was but she was a fighter sometimes and this was a new land she didn't know about so she stood tall and ready for whom or what was coming. She thought to herself I'm ready. She took a few steps forward and showed she wasn't scared anymore.

At the sound of the shrill Gage knew it was a fae, he trotted faster. He came to the top of the hill and stopped. He focused on the mare. He noted her stance and called to her. He lowered his head as a sighn he ment no harm to come to her. His bright blue eyes looked her over for a moment. I do not want to frighten her, he thought, but she seems like she is not to scared...he trotted down quickly and halted a good 6 feet from her. "hello good fae"

She softened her bodice and nickered to him her ears swivled and her ice blue eyes scanned the territory. She backed away a few steps away from him just to be safe."Hello..I'm Oracle...and you are?" she had an austrilian accent. As she looked at him her eyes twinkled and it drew most stallions in,she didn't have to try to be pretty it came naturally (pun). She swished her tail and shook her mane...so georgous and brilliant. Her scent released itself into the air,she was ready to turn and run in an instant if he did anything to set her off.She was tired and not in the mood but she could use someone to talk to her.She stared at him "Your name is.......?"she let out a small chuckle,as she awaited his reply she shifted her weight from her left hind leg to her right and the breeze once again danced with her mane.

"My calling is Gage" he said as he collected himself and bowed. After a moment he stood back up strait. "Do not fear Oracle," he stated as he had noticed she took a step back. "I mean no harm." his thoughts raced...but just because he ment it, didn't meen it would not happen. He hoped the fae would not take it this way. Fae? He thought to himself...she is a horse just like me and deserves to be called by her name. Then he realized he had stood thinking and oracle was looking as if she was going to leave. "Oracle, what brings you to these parts? Have you no herd of your own?" he noticed the wind once more as one large burst of wind shook the tops of the trees and wispered to him as it picked up his main and tale. He began to gradually move around her in a circle. She was indeed a brilliant mare to be around... He did not have much to say, but he wanted to keep the company...and keep it happy.

Her heart pounded and her mind raced, she bowed to him respectfully"I'm a travler...longing for a purpose."she watched as he made a circle around her,it was nerveracking she hasn't been around a stallion in a long time....the only stallions she ever knew was her dad and her older brother, yet they are just a sad memory."i uh." she clears her throat "Have nowhere to go...anymore."her emotion of fear shone through just a tad as she spoke to him.She batted her eyelashes and swished her tail at the irritating bugs..she hated them so."You are the lead am i correct...Gage."she smiled at him she took a turn for the best and pushed fear away and let a better side of her in.Right at the moment she thought that he sounded very demanding but didn't say a word about it.She smiled and awaited his reply.

"indeed you are..." he said as he finished his circle. "and i see you have already taken refuge apon my rescorces...?" He said as he looked at the trail of pushed down grass that lead to the spring. There was another burst of wind. He perked his ears and stomped around a little, tired of being in one place again. He thought he might be being to harsh, but he did not want to be to kind to the mare in fear of her thinking he was weak, which he was indeed not. He tossed his tale and shook his main, he really was showing off a little bit this time. He was enjoying this mare, the way she was clearly playing with him. he knew she was stronger, he could tell by her battle wounds. He looked her over again, not being able to take in all her fetures. He noticed a few knots in her main, but did not want to get them out in fear of her not liking him to begin with. so he stood and waited for her to reply

She sidestepped away from him "You do like to stand in one place to long do you?"she looked at him."I uh have to go..hope we meet again."she had a sly smirk on her face the cantered away clearing a huge log.She slowed to a walk as she treaded up the hill from once she had come, she was now back on the desert like part of the terrian again as she trotted dust flew up into the sky like hot embers from a campfire. She slowed to a walk again and stood in a patch of wildflowers and grazed, she became hungry again her thirst was quenched for sometime now.She snorted and swished her tail and shook her mane at the pests we call flies or mosquitos, she ignored them and ate the grass avoiding the purple flowers.

Gage's eyes lit when he saw her jump. He froze in his stance...this mare was perfect. He galloped after her, hoping she hadnt gotten to far away. He cleared the log 2 feet more that he had to. As he galloped the wind caught his main and forlock and through them back. As he ventured a little out of his heard land, he got into the dry grass of the open plain. As his feet briskly moved over it, he kicked it up. He galloped up to the top of the hill and reared and let out a neigh. The sun here was harsher, and he was a lot warmer. the sun made his coat glisten and the strands of his main, tale (still held high), and forelock shine as they were playing in the wind. Gage saw her and cantered in a small circle then cantered down. He cantered around Oracle and then a little deeper into the plain and then galloped back to her he galloped up and then came to a reighning halt about 3 feet from her. His bright blue eyes were brighter than ever. He touched her sholder affectionatly. "Why did you leave me?" He ask as he looked at Oracle with excitement.

She heard the hoofbeats again after she had settled down to graze, she lifted her head and pricked her ears in his direction and saw Gage she was thinking what did i do now?!.She was amazed at his speed and agility she had not seen a horse more active than she.Her blue eyes twinkled as she scanned him.She bgan her reply "Well i have a family to find and you...well have a herdland to run."She half smiled not sure what to expect of his reply. She was now nervous/scared hoping her reply wouldn't have blown him up.She pranced in a few places so her scared and nervous emotions wouldn't reveal themselves to Gage. She kinda liked him as well..like as a buddy...if she liked him more than that she would be moving way to fast and she would feel awkward around him.She would keep her feelings bottled up inside until the right time came and they knew eachother better, she knew that would never happen beacuse he will be busy maintaining his land and she will be looking for the lost herd from which she came.

"Well where is your family? " he ask as he bowed his head and took a step foward. Was that to personal? he ask himself. he watched how she would respond. The wind picked up some of the dry grass on the ground and tossed it around. The mare was yet 2 answer. Gage nudged her neck with his muzzle and began to carefully groom her main pulling at it gently. "Just so you know, i am yet to truly begin my heard..." he wrapped his neck around hers. All was quiet. "If you must go, stay with me and rest... at least for a little while..." He trotted around her again and stopped about a foot from her. "Come back with me."

She looked at him her pupils widened her eyes looked almost black then she looked down at her hooves as she got ready to speak."We uh got seperated when i was about 6 to 7 months mabye to even a 1 year old and i haven't seen them since."She swallowed deeply "I've been searching for them my whole life..and i intend to settle down i had no idea that you had no herd."She half smiled as he wrapped his neck around her's.she started to think to herself again I think someone does care about me after all.She chuckled and looked back at him after she stared at her hooves, she swallowed deeply again "I'd be happy to stay with you until you no longer need me or think you no longer do.She shook her mane after he walked a little ways from her asking her to go with him.She whinnied toward him happily this might start out as a new beginning for Oracle after all.

Gage looked at her excitedly. He did a small rear and whinneied soffly to her he began to gallop back. He heard her hooves hit the ground as she followed. the strange thing was is that she had absolutley no problem keeping up. He liked his. They began to make there way down the hill and into the begining of the trees. They made there way back the way they had come over the pushed down grass. The log was comming up, the log was even higher from this side Gage realized. He picked up speed and as did Oracle. They both leaped and landed on the other side as gracefully as a feather. Gages tale looked like a flag waving in the wind rather than a tale. The strands flickered back and fowarth on both of there manes as they galloped along. Oracle stopped by the edge of the wet sand, but Gage continued into the large spring, splashing water everywhere he neighed. "Come join me wont you?" He got deeper into the water. "I want to show you the cave on the other side of the spring" he said playfully as he waited for her to follow.
