She gracefully galloped kicking up dust as they made their way back she cleared the log perfectly.She whinnied and jumped into the water "Why not!" she laughed and swam with him.She treaded water nonstop it was fun playing in the water and having fun again,she reached the other side and climbed back on land and shook her glossy coat she was a little chilled now so she shivered a bit but she'll be ok.She patiently waits for Gage she did have feelings for him emencely she trots aroun in the sand leaving delicate hoofprints in it.She nickered to him playfully"Slow Poke!"she yelled while laughing.She was a little achey from running and swimming she shook her mane it was now free of all the tangles and knots it was straight and perfect but still wet.

Gage followed her out and watched as she shook off her coat. He felt for Oracle...and wanted her to be his queen...but it was much to early for this he thought. He shook off his coat and mane. He saw that she was shivering. He looked up past the canopy of trees and realized that the sun was no longer there. it was about to set. He looked back at Oracle, and then walked up to her and nudged her neck affectionetly. "Come with me." They went into the cave and all the way to the back where there was warm dirt, instead of the hard rock. Gage layed down in the dirt. His legs were not aching but he was indeed worn out. He rolled in the dirt. He was much warmer now. then he collected himself in the dirt, pulling his legs in. "Wont you lay down?"

Oracle slowly followed behind him though she was aching and cold she tried not to show it.As they walked up the hill to the cave she heard noises that kinda spooked her in some way she wasn't usually scared,she thought it was of how hectic the day was for her.When they reached the cave she layed in the warm dirt and put her head down in the dirt,then moved her cold eyes over to Gage they had a slight warmth look to them even though they were a cold blue color.She chuckled "Warmth at last." she began to doze off but remained alert about what was going on around her.


**Morning

Morning had finally come and she got up and left the cave leaving Gage to sleep she walked back down the hill to the spring/lake thing and grazed by it.She shook her coat it was now dry free from dirt and debris that lay upon it,it glistened in the morning sun.She grabbed mouthfulls of dew covered grass it was crisp and delicious to her,She shook her mane it was finally free of tangles and so was her tail she has felt more alive since she had been with Gage.She thought mabye he actually liked her but she also had her doubts they were violently shaken from her head.She walked over to the spring and took a drink her front legs were in the shallow part as she gulped it down,she started to hear the noises again she perked her ears again and held her head high in the direction of the noise then moved from the water back tot he grass."How annoying."she whispered to herself.

After gage had checked over his land, going by every square inch to check. But something was there, not a horse...he could sence it. This feeling bothered him. He didnt worry but he was ancious, he could not track the smell to one place. he was very aware. He walked over the a side of the grass and rolled in the grass, it wipped off all the dirt from the night before although he still had a few knots in his main. He got up and shook. The sence was strong and something deep inside of him told him to move along... he followed this. He saw Oracle shake off and drink from the spring. The wind flowed in one steady burst and it blew his whole main from one side to the other and then released it on the other side of his neck, then back. His ears perked at Oracle. She obviously couldnt see him beyond the trees. He stood and watched. He heard a noise but avoided it as he found himself unable to pull his eyes from the mare in front of him. He looked her over once again and how the sun hit her only at sertain spots through the trees. He watched as the wind tackled her mane from one side to the other. He decided to go up to her. He let out a warning nicker as he trotted up and aound her. "good morning good Oracle." He bowed to her. "Im sorry i was not neer when you arouse...i needed to check on my land. Ive had this feeling all morning, sence i woke up really that something is here. But it is not a horse...its something diffrent..." As Oracle looked up at him she smiled. he smiled back and awated her reply.

She snorted at the noise she didn't like it much at all,She grazed as the sun pulled itself up into the sky.Oracle looked at her reflection int he spring as she walked over one more time "Pathedic"she shispered to herself.She saw Gage coming over and just stood in her postition waiting for him patiently.She bowed back toward him with alot of respect, "I've been hearing the strange noise as well and I'm just not comfortble with it."a nervous look lied upon her face she didn't want to show it but she was serious about the sounds."I can't even identify the scent from the creature."She gritted her teeth together,she got a small cut by her coronet band while jumping the log the other day,it wasn't deep but it stung and hurt badly she soaked it in the water and let the cool water rinse and cleanse it amd point it inthe direction of healing.She looked at Gage to see if he had anymore to say.

Gage heard a russle. He tensed and imidently his sences told him to run. but he didnt, he stayed in his spot, stood tall with his ears perked. He stood there for a moment. "Oracle..." he said, "Go up to the hill where we were yesterday when i convinced you to come back with me." He knew she would not like this, she looked like one of those mares who did not run from things. Oracle started to reply. "Oracle i will follow up, i wont be here long. I need to check this out. Oracle started to reply again. but Gage neighed slightly, "Please go. Just this once. I will never ask you to run from anything again." But as he said this, he realized the tence...never again? what did he think? she was staying? he would try and find a way to get her to stay. she couldnt go. She took a good look over Gage and began canter up the hill. "Go farther than the log!" he yelled behind her. He knew what he would do, go half way then turn back to investigate, this was yet another bad habbet of his. curiosity. So he said it to Oracle because she was seemed so much like him. Once he saw that she was gone, he headed into the brush to investigae. (dont feel like looking up the real spelling )

She looked at him with her delicate sad eyes they were full of fear and disappointment.She began to speak "Don't get hurt...please."her muzzle touched his neck she felt as if she was going to cry she didn't want him to ge hurt at all.She had forgotten the pain that lingered in her coronet band,she cantered away from him and almost cleared the log her front legs hit the log she wasn't focused so she face planted it into the ground hard and you could see engravements in the earth where she fell.She got up with a few bloody scratches on the left side of her face,but she kept going she went up the hill and ran across the desert like ground disturbing the resting dust and it flew everywhere.She couldn't believe she was already a little worn out,she skidded to a halt and stood with driplets of blood oozing out of her cuts and onto the ground.She panted trying to catch her breath she felt like she had been running forever,She continued to stand and wait for Gage to get back,his curiosity made her worry sometimes.

All gage's instincts told him to run, they creamed inside him, but he could not run. he knew this, this was his land, his taritory, and nothing would come betweeen him and his newly aquired land. He pinned his ears back and walked foward, this instint pulling him back as hard as it could but gage was determined. The wind wisteled at him and the trees swayed. There was another movement in the grass...there were actually several movements around him. His ears jolted with every movement. He was a bit frightened, everything inside him screaming. He began to move foward in the direction of the rustling. He thought, was he about to let something attack him? NO. he thought, he pulled his strength toghther and jolted into the brush ears pinned back. He let out a shrill neigh as something bit him on his back right leg. Wolves. he came back with a blow on the wolf. There were grawls all around him. For a moment al he saw were there eyes, and there teeth. It seemed there eyes were there teeth in his oppinion. He thought about Oracle. The best thing he could do to keep them away from her would to be to let them chase him out, make a roundabout and come back. He tore out of the brush, his leg bleeding leaving a trail of blood. He galloped slower at first, letting the wolves be sharp on his heals. as he left his teratory, he began to move faster. and graduall faster, he came apon some trees and ran throught them as fast as his legs would cary him.

As Oracle stood waiting she heard his painful shrill she didn't know what to do she wasn't sure of she was to stay or to go help.She gathered herself and her courage and cantered across the dust plains and down the grassy hill she saw the wolves and was determined to help Gage wether he wanted her to or not.Her ears pinned flat agaist her skull and she took off down the hill and managed to take one out just but stomping on it as she ran.One wolf got totally pissed and jumped on her back sinking his teeth into her withers and his claws into the sides of her stomach.She rears and fell flat on her back,that's the way she had planned on taking another out,another bites the sensitive tendon just above her hock and she shrills and falls with a loud thud.Three other wolves took off after Gage as fast as they could they didn't plan on losing a really good snack for the family.Oracle continued to try to fight the wolves that jumped and climbed on her,she finally was able to get up,they circled her as she watched in terror she began to speak with a loud bold and serious voice "LEAVE!"they all cackled at her as she told them to leave,they weren't going anywhere until they got what they wanted.She was soaked in her own blood but she didn't care she wanted to protect/help Gage,she pants and canters up the hill.The 2 wolves follow her they were right on her tail speeding up with every deadly stride they could provide.She galloped on the dusty plain yet again stirring up the dust as did the wolves.Oracle took a sudden turn away from a cliff the dust still lingered in the air you could barly see through it .The wolves ran off the cliff and landedon a ledge below they lied unconscious.Oracle sighed with relief and fell to the ground.

After gage found his way back, he saw blood stains in the grass and a wolf that layed limp. He imedently began to worry. Where was Oracle?? He searched for a moment with his eyes. His heart started to pound. It was like that feeling when you realize you left your phone in the restaurant 2 hours ago, and when you feel around in your pockets and go holy nuts. But 4 times worse. he let out a scream calling to her. "Oracle!" he screamed as he began to gallop along the train of blood. She was no where to be found and there were no answers to his call. he began francticly retracing his steps, serching all the whole open plain with his eyes, he galloped though his land. No where to be found. He searched the cave, he was greated my a cold birs of wind. He whinnied to her. He didnt realize another train of blood untill he calmed down. Ok think gage, where could she have gone? As he calmed down more, he noticed tracks, paws and a set of hooves. He began to follow them. "Oracle?" He called as he saw the edge of a cliff. Oh no. He began franticly galloping to the edge. He looked over. "Oracle?!" he cryed. but all he saw were wolves. He heard a small whinnie. "Oracle!" he said as he cantered over and layed down beside her. He rubbed head along her neck. "Oh oracle,...im so sorry, im so, so sorry." He said hopelessly, "Oh my dear sweet Oracle." It took all day but he managed to get her back in to the cave. After he got a chance to look over her wounds, it made his biten leg feel like nothing like a bruse. He ached all over, but not from pain, but for Oracle. There was a growl outside of the cave. Gage got up from his posission beside Oracle and galloped out side. the wolf stood there, wounded. It was the one he had kicked. he toor at it and got bit on the same foot again. he let out a scream and trampled the wolf. once the wolf lay limp and lifeless. he stood over him with his ears pinned down and stampped his foot and snorted loudly. He limpped back inside to Oracle.

She breathed heavily and harshly and heard thundering hooves,they went in every direction except her way but they eventually did.She saw a blurry figure beside here and as she listened to the voice she knew it was gage she closed her eyes and lays her head back down and began to speak "What are you so sorry for?"she said with a rattly voice.She slowly started to stand,she acted fine but sadly was hurt.She limped to the cave with him and layed in the dirt,she heard the growl and immeadiately got on her feet and backed further intot he cave she shivered."I'm sorry if i scared you."she said after he had walked back to her,her head hung low as she stood and waited for his reply.

"you did scare me." He didnt say it angryly but, he turned his head in the othr direction. "If you would have stayed where i told you you wouldnt have gotten hurt in the first place. He went beside her, "You should go lie in the river in the pasture and let the water run over your wounds...." He heard the wind wistling outside the cave."though it seems it would get cold tonight, i think it would be for the best, ill lay beside you and keep you warm." he nudged the cuts on her head with his snout. "Something has to be done about them eventually."

She looked at him "I'm sorry.",then she turned away as well she felt as if she was going to cry,she slowly walked alone to the river and splashed herself so she could get used to the water before laying in it.She knelt and then layed in the water lieing her head on a rock,the water swereved,went over,or went under her bodice as she quietly layed.She took in deep breaths and tried to think of something that would keep her mind of the pain or atleast ease it up a bit.After laying in the water for an hour ahe got up and her blood soaked coat was now back to black and white again,she didn't bother to shake the water off it hurt too much.She stood next to the river watching the water,she didn't want to talk to Gage and make him frustrated with her anymore than he was,well she thought he was.She was soaked but the water quickly drizzled off of her then began to go slower as more of the water escaped her glossy coat.She shivered as bursts of wind hit her like a truck,her wounds stung as the wind hitem'.She whispered to herself as she stood alone quietly "I'm so sorry Gage."

Gage saw she was shivering from the cave and walked over to her and wrapped his neck around her. she didnt see him comming because she was watching the swaying of the water. when he put his neck around her she jumpped a little. "Dont be sorry. you were only trying to help me." When the wind blew, Oracle shivered again. Gage moved his rubbed his neck up and down hers affectionatly and at the same time was causeing friction. attempting to get her warmer. "Everything will be ok,..." He stated as he kept trying to warm her. he turned his head towards the sun. Its rays of warmth were slowly evaporating into the cool night. Gage started to move Oracle towars the cave. "you need to lay down and get some rest. It will help you. Sleep alwase helps. I wont let anything hurt you." He said as they walked past the wolf on the ground. "Go get warm, i will take care of this wolf."

She stood quietly as he rubbed her neck affectionatly then when he moved his neck she was cold again.SHe walked up the hill with him and Gage had stopped and told her to go up to the cave so he could take care of the wolf..and so she did.She limped to the back of the cave and layed in the shadowy part she was a bit warmer but not by much.She snorted and layed her beautiful head in the warm dirt and slept......she quickly awoke after 2 hours of sleep sweating badly and realized that Gage wasn't back yet,she stayed in her position and waited again...but nothing..she couldn't hear anything just the cold night's wind that loved to chill her as it came into the cave.She layed her head back down slightly shivering as she once again tried to go to sleep.
